Module 3 was a bit disappointing in some ways, but solid. It had good general information, but I think I was hoping for more technical information, and more examples of search engines beyond just Google, Bing and Yahoo.

I took an information literacy class years ago at another college and we did a lot of work there on learning about searching and finding resources. We covered a lot of other interesting resources and search strategies. This module definitely reminded me of some elements of that that I had forgotten from that class, as I have gotten lazier with my searches over the years. (Though I think it’s worth noting that google’s search functions have gotten lazier, too!)

The module’s information was solid, and it was a good refresher, I just felt like I wanted more out of it. I did think the one example about researching epidemics after a discussion about how media coverage tends to fade fast. I had to look up when the book was written when I saw that. 2018! Figures!
